Nissan Ariya 2023 – Electric Car Reviews

Overview – Nissan Ariya 2023

The 2023 Nissan Ariya is the newest electric vehicle in Nissan’s lineup that is part of Nissan’s rejuvenation efforts.. It has a different design than the current angular lines seen on other Nissan vehicles, with a low and wide stance that gives it a sportier look. Two battery sizes are offered, along with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, making it a strong competitor in the EV crossover market. It has a 91 kWh lithium-ion battery, 389 horsepower, and 442 lb-ft of torque. It has a maximum driving range of 304 miles, and ProPilot 2.0 driver-assistance system is available. Despite its specs, the Ariya has serene driving manners and a stylish cabin.

Nissan Ariya 2023 – Energy And Carbon Efficiency

The Nissan Ariya has some reasonable carbon emissions figures compared to other electric vehicles on the market. It emits an average of 101 gCO2/mi (63 gCO2/km), which is lower than the Jaguar I-Pace EV400 (112 gCO2/mi) and the Ford Mustang Mach-E SR AWD (108 gCO2/mi). The Nissan Ariya’s figures are also lower than the BMW i7 xDrive60 (104 gCO2/mi) but not the Volkswagen ID5 (92 gCO2/mi). Overall, the Nissan Ariya is in the middle of the pack for carbon emissions figures.

EV Engine, Power and Performance

The Ariya has a dual-front/rear-electric-motor configuration for optional all-wheel drive, and a front-wheel drive model that can reach 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. It has a calm and stable ride, but lacks the sporty nature of some cars.

The suspension is firm but not harsh, and the steering is light but manageable. The e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system is able to control each brake individually, allowing for stability control without major intervention. When braking, the rear motor provides more regenerative resistance, reducing dive and increasing comfort and stability.

Interior Comfort and Cargo Dimensions

The Ariya’s futuristic and minimalistic interior has no buttons, creating a sleek look. The flat, low floor of the cabin offers a spacious feel, and the zero-gravity seats are comfortable. The rear seat is comfortable for two adults, but not as roomy as the front.

The interior of the Ariya is deliberately Japanese-styled, with a kumiko-inspired pattern on the speaker grilles and ambient lighting. It has an electrically operated, sliding center console that creates extra knee room for the rear center passenger. It has a high seating position, but the swooping roofline may make some feel claustrophobic. The cargo space is 22.8 cubic feet, which is less than many of its competitors.

Infotainment, Tech and Connectivity

Two 12.3-inch displays serve as both the digital gauge cluster and the infotainment screen. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation are standard, and wireless smartphone charging and a head-up display are available. The infotainment system features both Amazon Alexa and a built-in voice assistant.

The Ariya comes with a standard 7.2 kWh onboard charger, with a 14 hour charge time on a Level 2 charger. It is capable of 130 kW charging speeds on a DC fast charger, taking 40 minutes to charge from 10-80%. It comes with heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, wireless smartphone mirroring, and power-folding mirrors.

Safety Features

The optional ProPilot 2.0 driver-assistance technology allows drivers to remove their hands from the wheel in certain driving scenarios, suggests lane changes based on navigation route or slow-moving traffic, and includes adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and blind spot monitoring. Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with a hands-free driving mode are all included as well.

Warranty Information

The Ariya is expected to come with a bumper-to-bumper policy as well as battery protection that stretches over eight years or 100,000 miles. The limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles, the powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles, and the battery warranty covers eight years or 100,000 miles. There is no complimentary scheduled maintenance.

Final Thoughts

The Nissan Ariya is a powerful and stylish electric vehicle that offers an impressive range of up to 304 miles on a single charge. Its interior is stylish and comfortable, and it has a variety of tech features, such as Pro Pilot Assist 2.0. Its price may be a deterrent for some, as it is more expensive than some of its competitors. However, its serene driving manners, advanced safety features, and generous warranty make it worth considering.
